The Davie Drive-In was opened by 1949 when it was located on what at the time was Avon Street. It was operated by N.S. Chaffin and had a capacity for 175-cars. By 1952 it had been enlarged to 250-cars. By 1957 it had been renamed Mocksville Drive-In.
Based on recollections from my mother and uncle who grew up in the area, it was closed by 1960. The concession/projection building appears to have still been standing along with the property mostly untouched in 1993. By 1998, a fluid power and engineering company built their plant headquarters there. That company still occupies the site as of 2013.

I Can’t Find The Opening Date Or Closing Date To This One At All! All I Know Is That This One First Opened As The Davie Drive-In In The Mid-1950s. I Found Attractions From About 1956-1957 And That’s What I Can Find Only.
