The World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX opened on May 19, 1998. They boast that they had “the Southeast’s biggest 3D digital IMAX screen at 70 feet wide and 52 feet tall".
In addition to IMAX documentaries, mainstream Hollywood films such as “The Wizard of Oz: An IMAX 3D Experience” were shown. It was closed in September 2023. It reopened in October 2023 but closed again by June 2026.

Without question the absolutely best venue to watch a film in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area! This is premium IMAX, not the watered down version offered by most multiplexes.
The days of the World of Golf IMAX are numbered with closure schedule for late September. In that this is reported to be one of if not the largest IMAX screen in the state, it’s demise will be great.
There is a glimer of hope on the horizon regarding the theatres reopening under the management of Sun-Ray Cinema Jacksonville. Talks are underway with the county and there is a possibility that 70mm projection will be brought in with the acquisition.
