The Uptown Square Cinema opened in 1982 and catered mostly to the Tulane University crowd. The cinemas closed in 1998. The building now houses a Real Estate Office.

I believe this theater had 4 screens. It may have been operated by General Cinemas, if I recall correctly.
I worked there in 1996. We had 2 small screens. At least during that time, we were owned by M.I. Theaters, ho ran mostly dollar theaters in the area. It was latter bought by an independent film company.
