The Cine Roxy is an Art Deco style theatre that opened in 1940. Following closure it became Chinese restaurant which closed due to a fire that killed its owner. It later became a video arcade called Biercade. By March 2025 the building was vacant and derelict.

A Chinese restaurant called Mandarin also operated at the site until it was destroyed in a fire sometime in the mid/late 1970s. The owner, who lived on the premises, was killed.

Just a reminder that the 2015 picture needs to be deleted. It is not the same building, and it isn’t even on the same street. The Roxy appears to be vacant and derelict from our visit a few weeks ago. Shutters cover the entrance, and there was no sign or anything.
