Located in the north of Iceland town of Akureyri, just around the corner from the town square. The Nyja Bio was first opened as a single screen cinema in 1929.
Today it operates as a twin-screen cinema, with both screens having THX certification. The Nyja Bio screens mainstream films in their original language versions, with Icelandic sub-titles.
