In Wivenhoe, Essex, the Foresters Hall, which had opened in October 1904, was converted into the full-time Foresters Cinema in late-1927. That closed in May 1930, presumably instead of being converted to sound, and the building was once again used as a public hall. But in 1937 it was taken over by the Bostock (of Ipswich) circuit, which presumably installed sound equipment, and it reopened as the Lido Cinema. But this, too, was short-lived, and the Lido Cinema closed in 1940.
After the war the building became a small factory. During 1987-88 it was converted into flats, and is now known as Foresters Court.
