The Regent Theatre opened in 1914. The original address given for the Regent Theatre was 230-4 13th Street which is now an obsolete address. On a modern map, the Regent Theatre should have been located on College Point Boulevard, near 18th Avenue.

In 1926, the owners of the Regent Theatre were Harry Stantzler and Morris Goldberg who also owned the Lyceum Theatre in College Point. An exact closing date hasn’t been found yet but the Regent Theatre is listed in the 1932 Film Daily Yearbook as closed with 570 seats.

Articles from this period that announced the opening of local motion picture houses, always seem to read like paid advertisements. In my modest research, I’ve found this to be the case across the board, whether the opening was in the Big Apple, or in the smallest of hamlets in rural upstate New York.

Wondering if the building covering the addresses 18-05/-07 College Point Boulevard would correspond to the old Thirteenth Street address. The look of the architecture seems to suggest that it may be the former Regent Theatre.
