The Central Theatre was an early cinema which opened by 1913. In 1934 it became the Ritz Theatre. It was still open into the 1950’s. It later became Arthur’s Café, the interior of which was itself largely decorated as an Atmospheric style theatre.

The theater appears on the 1913 map. The space was a saloon in 1907, and the building predates 1887. It must have been a cramped theater, the building is deep but very narrow.
