The Kamoi was only of three movie theaters built on Molokai. Construction began on March 15, 1939. The theater served a multi-facted role in the culture of Molokai until its closure in 1979. The former theater served as a flower shop for a few years beginning in the early 80s and was demolished about 1988 or ‘89.
