It was opened in early-1920 and was an attractive brick building with white stone trim and a central pediment. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system in 1929. By 1934 it was known as the Coquet Hall.
The Coquet Hall was closed as a cinema in the early-1960’s and converted into a bingo club, which operated into the 1990’s. It has since been demolished.
