Located in Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire. The Star Theatre was opened as a cinema prior to 1934. It had a 12 feet deep stage and two dressing rooms. In 1937 it was taken over by Cecil Whitely, and had been equipped with British Thomson Houston(BTH) projectors & an AWH sound equipment. Later a Western Electric(WE) sound system was fitted.
By 1944 it had been re-named Star Cinema having been taken over by the Leeds based Star Cinemas chain. It was closed on 5th June 1957 with Clifton Webb in “The Man Who Never Was”. The building was demolished within 6-months, and today Fleetgate Hardware Store operates at this address.
