I remember taking my young son to the Villas in the mid 60s to see the last move every shown there before it closed it’s doors forever. The name of the movie was THE BAT starring Vincent Price. A low budget film.
I thought the thaetre is behind the person taking the photo.
The Theatre was located on the southwest corner of Central and 22nd street. If I remember correctly, it was a beauty school, for teaching Womens hair styling.
Almost every Sat 40s and early 50s afternoon was either here or at the Annetta. Cost 10 cents….popcorn the same…hey….a cheap way for the folks to get rid of me for a while.
The Villas Theatre launched on September 5, 1916. The theatre appears to have closed after a triple feature on November 13, 1960 of “The Bat,” “The Bride & the Beast,” and “World Without End.”
