The New Alta Theatre was opened September 6, 1913. It was designed in a Mission Revival style by its owner/operator C.E. Oliphant. It was equipped with a 2 manual, 4 rank Robert Morton theatre organ in July 1926. The Alta Theatre was still operating in 1955.

The December 6, 1913, issue of The Moving Picture World said that the New Alta Theatre in Pendleton, Oregon, had opened on September 6 that year.
