The Liberty Theatre was built and opened in 1940. It was renamed Mora Theatre by the late-1940’s and into the 1950’s. It last operated as the Chief Theatre. It closed in the mid-1970’s. The building today (2014) is occupied by the Mora Valley Spinning Mill and its gift shop.

There are plans to rehabilitate the theatre as a cinema and possibly performing arts venue
