Nearby Theaters

According to the Clovis Historical Society walking tour, the Clovis Theatre was at the corner of 5th Street and Pollasky Avenue in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The Film Daily Year Book of 1957 listed the Clovis Theatre with 495 seats. It was still open in 1958.

Following closure it became Jackson Jewelers.

Boxoffice, March 21, 1953: “The Clovis Theatre at Clovis, Calif., was sold by Mr. and Mrs. Bradley H. Fish to Emanuel A. Giannaros.”

Boxoffice, Feb. 10, 1958: “CLOVIS, CALIF. - Dale Nixon, who took over operation of the Clovis Theatre here four months ago, is operating the house four nights per week. The theatre has a capacity of 490. Nixon came here from Salt Lake City, Utah, to take over the Clovis.”
