According to the 1978 topographical map, the drive-in was located about 1 ½ miles NW of the town just to the east of the intersection of HWY 212 and 163rd Street. It is now private property with no trace of the drive-in remaining. https://goo.gl/maps/jdgTi
It was still listed as the Rainbow (Circuit: S. Bowden) in the 1982 IMPA. It was listed as the Country Cinema Drive In (200 South Platte, S. Bowden) in the 1984-1988 IMPAs.
A closer address is US Route 212 and 312 Ave, Gettysburg, SD 57442. The drive-in sat just to the east where the house exist today.
The drive-in was still there in 1997, but by 2004 had been demolished. Today, there is no trace of the drive-in remaining, although the driveway is close to where the exit road for the drive-in existed. http://tinyurl.com/y9vd4ewo
This was open as early as 1955, it’s present in an aerial photo from that year.
