The Madison’s last ad was in July of 1982 and an article stated that the grounds were maintained at least into the late 1980s.

Judging by the 1984 aerial view, it appears that it was still operating in the mid-1980s.

1731 NW 2nd St, Madison, SD 57042 will put you there. Now the home of Tire Motive Service Center, no hint that a DI was once there. Visible in a 1965 Historic Aerial.
