The Trio Theatre was opened on March 23, 1918 with Ethel Clayton in “Souls Adrift”. The theatre seated 210 and closed as a movie theatre in in 1933, but was used for special events for some time afterwards.
ince demolished, the Post Office sits where the theatre once stood.

The Trio Theatre opened in 1918, according to this item from the May 4 issue of Moving Picture World that year: “Hale, Mo.—Hale’s new motion picture house, the Trio, has been opened to the public. It has a seating capacity of 400. T. F. Houx and A. D. Hanners are at the head of the new concern.”
The Trio Theatre opened its doors on March 23, 1918 with Ethel Clayton in “Souls Adrift” along with an unnamed two-reel comedy. It was originally managed by T.F. Houx and A.D. Hanners. Movies ended in 1933, but managed to continue operating as a special events house throughout the remainder of the 1930s.
