The full uncut 3 ½ hour version of “Christ Stopped at Eboli” was shown at the Cable Car Cinema by the Italian Film Society of RI on November 24, 1985 and March 19, 1987. The shorter general release version was also shown, in 1995 and 1996.

Francesco Rosi was one of my favorite Italian directors. I was introduced to him in NY in 1993.
This film was completed in 1979.
