Rossellini’s 1970 film “Socrate” (Socrates) was shown at the Cable Car Cinema by the Italian Film Society of RI on March 30, 1996. It had also been screened in 1986 at Roger Williams Park Museum in Providence.

When I first saw it in New York at the Museum of Modern Art in November 1971, Rossellini himself was present. I spoke to him afterward in the lobby where he autographed my program.
