The Circle Theatre was opened on May 9, 1937 with Barbara Stanwyck in “Internes Can’t Take Money” & Alison Skipworth in “Two Wise Maids”. According to the Sanborn Insurance Maps of 1949, the approximate location of the Circle Theatre today would be the site of the Baig, Admani & Kapoor building.

The Film Daily Year Book of 1950 listed the Circle Theatre with 446 seats.

Southwest Builder & Contractor of August 21, 1936, reported that a 600-seat theater would be built for Principal Theatres on Main Street near 6th in Brawley. The architect for the project was Clifford A. Balch.
