The Savoy Cinema was situated in the Cape Town suburb of Rosebank and was built in 1937. It had seating for 907 in stalls and raised stalls configuration. The architect was W.H. Grant.
By 1965 the Savoy Cinema closed for renovation and re-opened in 1966 as the Cinerama. The Cinerama was equipped for the original three projection Cinerama process (later using the single projection Panavision process), at this time seating had been reduced to 782 seats.
The Cinerama closed in 1982, the building again being renovated to house the three screen, Constantia Rosebank. By 2008 the cinema had closed.
The building now houses commercial interests.
