Originally built as Goddard’s Assembly Rooms. In 1909 it was converted into the Theatre De Luxe, operated by Electric Theatres(1908) Ltd. All seating was on a single floor. It was equipped with a small organ.
The Theatre De Luxe was closed in 1921, and was demolished to enable a new much larger Theatre De Luxe to be built on the site (which has its own separate page on Cinema Treasures).

AndreaP Normal practice There is always a double entry on a complete rebuild.. Where walls of the old theatre are used again then there is only one entry..
