Located on the west side of town on Highway 92 W. at Berkley Road. The Dale Drive-In was opened in January 1952 when it was operated by M.E. Hensler. In February 1963 it was taken over by Floyd Theatres. It was taken over by Martin Theatres in March 1970. It was closed in 1972, but reopened in 1977. It finally closed on March 4, 1986 with Ann Dusenberry in “Basic Training” & Patrick Houser in Weekend Pass".
A Walmart now stands on the site.

Boxoffice, Feb. 11, 1963: “Maurice Hensler, one of Florida’s most widely respected exhibitors who has operated the Auburn Theatre and the Dale Drive-In, both in Auburndale in the heart of the state’s citrus belt, has relinquished his theatres to the Floyd circuit … headed by Carl Floyd of Haines City”
Opened In January 1952, Once Closed In 1972, Reopened In 1977, Closed For The Final Time On March 4, 1986 With “Basic Training” And “Weekend Pass” As Its Last Films.
There Is Also A Shotgun Incident That Took Place In September 1974.

In the March 2, 1970 issue of Boxoffice, Martin Theatres president C. L. Patrick announced that his company had acquired a bunch of theaters from Floyd Enterprises. Among them was the Dale in Auburndale.
