The Carnation Milk Company opened their processing plant in Sulphur Springs in 1937, and this new theatre was built and named after that company, opening in 1937. By 1941 the Carnation Theatre was operated by Robb & Rowley-United Inc. and it was closed as a regular cinema on May 30, 1954 with John Wayne in “Pals of the Saddle”. It was then used for religious films and some live events into at least 1957.
