Madlin Theatre

This Near West Side neighborhood theatre, which sat just under 800, opened in 1916. The Madlin Theatre was located near the corner of W. Madison Street and N. Wolcott Avenue. The Madlin Theatre was closed during the 1950’s and was later demolished.

Today, another form of entertainment takes place on the site of the old theatre; instead of movies, two of Chicago’s professional sports teams, the Bulls and Blackhawks, call the United Center, which opened in 1994, their home.
