All that remains of the Grand Carlin How in January 2007

Located in Carlin How, to the south-west of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, North Yorkshire, and 8-miles south-east of Redcar. The Grand Electric Theatre was built before World War I and survived until the early-1930’s as the Grand Cinema, operated by Thompson’s (Thos) Circuit. Part of the building still stands today as a workshop.

Carlin How had a second, earlier film venue called the Tivoli. It burnt down in 1914.
