The Pavilion Theatre was operating as a cinema prior to 1934. It was equipped with a Sound Ltd. sound system. It had a 26 feet wide proscenium.
By 1962 it was part of the Jackson Withers Circuits. The Pavilion Theatre had closed by 1966.

Operated by Arthur Tillney, who also had the Empress built (as a roller rink, and then converted it to a cinema when that craze faded away), it’s likely that Arthur had this cinema built.
