Located in the central Cuba town of Fomento in the Las Villas province. The Cine-Teatro Baroja was built in 1925 by Matias Fernandez Baroja. It opened in 1926 and had seating for over 1,000 plus two rows of boxes. It specialized in North American films, and was mainly used as a cinema, but was also capable of live shows. Renown celebrities of the time performed here, including Lorenzo Barcela, Daniel Santos, Enrique Arredondo and Blanquita Amaro.
Major Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara de la Sema’s troops burnt the building down on December 18, 1958. Only 30% of the construction remained standing, the lobby and the family house on the second floor escaped damage from the fire. The surviving portion of the building now houses the headquarters of the Rolando Hernandez Lemus Municipal Library.

It was located just a few yards from the Marruco theater, which showed Spanish films, and they co-existed.
