Teatro Hernandez

Located in Banes, in the Oriente province. It opened as the Teatro Hernandez on 2nd February 1946. It was later re-named Teatro Hanoi

This theater was built by artistic impresario Santiaguito Hernández, opened on February 2, 1946, opposite Juan Vicente Cárdenas Park, named after the first mayor of the town. It has been renamed Hanoi.

The building architecture was based on the famous Cine Fausto of the capital city of La Havana. In the year 2008, Hurricane Ike destroyed the roof and damaged the walls of the cinema, resulting in its closure. Work on its restoration started in May 2017.
