Located in Caimanere, in the Oriente province. Caimanera is to the north of the Guantanamo Navy Base and is a town with only two streets Calle Correos and Calle Carretera. The Cine Rex was renamed Cine Caimanara on January 1, 1959.

The town, on the west shore of Guantánamo Bay, was named for the caimans once common in the bay and the Guaso river.
