Teatro Boyaca

Located in the Centro-Sur of the city centre. The Teatro Boyacá was opened 6th September 1940 with Deanna Durbin in “It’s a Date”. Designed by architect Carlos Guinand Sandoz, assisted by Henry Brons, it was a magnificent Art Deco style cinema. On the walls of the foyer were large painted murals by artist Rafael Rosales. Seating was provided for 741 in the orchestra, 506 in the balcony and 350 in the gallery at the rear of the balcony.

Sadly, the Teatro Boyacá was closed in 1963, and demolished in 1969.
