The snack bar and bio box has been(and screen and ramps?) has been demolished.
Correction 48o cars plus 180 seats.
480 cars, plus a 180 cars(possiby less cars when realigned for the reopening in 2016?). Exhibitor was Albany Investments P/L(1964 to ?), Orana Holdings P/L (? to 1983). The Siemiginkwski family brought out Orana Holdings in 1983 and closed the drive-in.
The screen(when reopened) was put over to the right hand side of the ramps, so the headlights from the cars going to and from the ten pin bowling building next door, would not interfere with the movie screenings on the screen.

The snack bar and projector box building has been demolished, except for the floor. The light poles are still there too. The entrance and exit roads(and possibly the ramps too?) are still there too. The ten pin bowling is still there too(and being used too).
Closes on 28/4/2019 with “Running on empty” and “Back to the future”. The site is going to be demolished, except for the ten pin bowling building(owned by the drive-in).
The go kart track has closed down been cleared away(in march 2019?). The drive-in section will close on 30/4/2019. The site has been sold(except for the ten pin bowling building). Who bought the site unknown?

The articule was in the newspaper on 22/12/2016 on page 2.
The opening on 25/9/2016 was a soft opening. The official was on 7/1/2017 with “Jungle Book”. There is a photo of the new drive-in screen and an articule about the Central 70 Drive-in in the newspaper, The Great Southern Weekender.
The Central 70 Drive-in will be reopening on 25/9/2016 with “Need for Speed”.
We weren’t allowed to operate in summer 2015 due to local council planning approval not being sought. The old projector room has been restored and we’ll be shooting sideways (East) across the original car park ramps to eliminate headlight issues from TenPin Bowling patrons. Hope to be up and running summer 2016. Screen – 12m x 5.8m Projector – Panasonic PT- DW10000 (1080p – 10,000 lumen) Throw distance – 75m
I think the Central 70 Drive-in may reopened in 2013(or earlier?) according to the website www.central70.com.au and reclosed in 2013!
We hope to be up and running around Dec 2015 screening classics monthly on a pre-sell ticket basis. Once we’ve sold 30 tickets we’ll schedule the film. www.central70.com.au
