Reopened 3 weeks after closure under new management (unknown who?) as a bargain cinema, but closed again on 12th December 1997.
The Forrest Cinema screened the Australian premiere of “Crocodile Dundee”. Named after explorer and Western Australia’s first premier Sir John Forrest GCMG, and his brother(also an explorer) Alexander Forrest CMG.
The entrance of the Forrest Drive-in was to the right of the Forrest Cinema.
You can see at the back of the building, the screen of the Forrest Drive In, a drive in cinema adjacent to the Forrest Cinema. Both are demolished today.
