After closure, the equipment was taken to the Piccadilly Theatre to be used for screen 2.
That part of the hotel is now a restaurant and a cocktail and tapas bar(Ivy and Jack).
The restaurant is named after Ivy and Jack the two main people in For Love of Ivy.
RIP Sir Sidney Poitner. 😢
The Town was part of the Ace Theatres chain and had a seating capacity of 636 all on one level. Being on the ground floor, patrons walked straight into it from the foyer. No stairs. I saw a dozen or so movies there and really liked it.
