Located on Victoria Street at the corner of Clifton Street. Grand Cinemas opened on 23rd November 1996(on four different screens) with “The First Wives Club”, “The Nutty Professor”(Eddie Murphy version), “Jingle all the Way”, “Ransom”, and “Matilda”. The cinema is still operating. Two of the cinemas hold 188 each, and the others hold 238 each. In 1998, plans were announced to add a further two cinemas each holding 193 people(unknown if they were ever built?). Grand Cinemas (Australia) went out of business on 21st November 2022 and this Grand Theatre was taken over by Hoyts.
