The Royal Theatre opened in 1927 with 2,700 seats. By 1934 it was operated by United Theater Enterprises Inc. It was still open in 1956, but had closed as a movie theatre by 1957.
The name was changed to The Three Arts Theater when it no longer was a movie house, and transitioned to live performances. It was demolished in 2003.

The owner of the Royal was one R.E. Martin, who had quite a few theaters in the area, according to this lawsuit:
