The Hoyts Queensgate Cinema closed on 21/7/2015. The Queensgate Building(along withe the cinema), and the car park behind it is set to be demolished. But the former Myer Department store building next door on the same block is not being demolished.
I think the demolition of the Hoyts Queensgate Cinema and Queensgate Building may have just stated(1/9/2017)?
Three of the projectors were donated to the AMMPT(Australian Musuem of Motion Picture & Television(Inc).
6 screens.
The Queensgate building was to be saved, but the sloped floors in the Queensgate Cinema were a problem, that couldn’t be fixed.
Some of the seats and ex projectors from the Queensgste Cinema were sent to sent to the(now) Orana Cinemas in Busselton, Western Australia, Australia in 1994.
