In the late 1920s/early 1930s, there was a strong secessionist movement in Western Australia advocating that the state break away from the Commonwealth of Australia. The pro-secessionist Dominion League of Western Australia held this ‘packed to the rafters’ rally at Perth’s His Majesty’s Theatre in 1930.
