The Empire Hall, also called Empire Pictures & Empire Theatre, was built and opened in 1910 by the owners of The Freemasons Hotel (located next door) The hall was also used as a skating rink. Film screenings ceased in the late-1950’s – Contributed by Greg Lynch –
