The Chinatown Cinema opened in 1991(near Mciver Railway Station), showing Chinese films, mainly from Hong Kong. The Chinatown Cinema has closed(date unknown?). The building became a restaurant(La Cherie), the restaurant has since closed and moved somewhere else, and the building was empty for a while. By 2018 it was in use as a church.
