A.W.U. Hall and Summer Gardens opened in 1902 beside the Co-operative stores. The Summer Gardens(later called Gwalia Gardens?) was on the South side of the A.W.U. Hall sharing a side wall along with a shop(name and type of business unknown?). Seating was provided for 300 in the hall and 200 in the gardens.
The A.W.U. Hall and Summer(Gwalia) Gardens closed in 1960 when the Satellite Drive-In at Leonora opened. The A.W.U. Hall and Summer(Gwalia) Gardens may still be there as part of the Leonara - Gwalia Historial Village(?). The name A.W.U. may stand for Australian Workers union(?).
