In St. Agnes, Cornwall, it is not known when the Regal Cinema opened, but it was owned by Mrs E. F. Knight and L. Dagnell, had a proscenium opening of just 14ft and presented one show nightly, with a matinee on Saturdays. (The building appears to have originally been a chapel.)
By 1937 the Regal Cinema had become one of the Duchy Cinemas, and was run from Penzance. In 1946 it was acquired by Cornwall Cinemas, and seating was reduced from 240 to 178. By 1950 it had passed to Roseland Halls. The Regal Cinema appears to have closed in the 1970’s.
By September 1999, when I visited, it had been converted into St. Agnes Meadery, a medieval-themed restaurant, which it remains today (2015).
