Opened in 1930 on the site of the Hotel Terminus, it was first called Atlas Cinema until the end of the decade. It was the same direction of the Alfa Cinema, directed by family Adriannsens. It had two programmes a week since the 1950’s. “The Bridge on the River Kwai” was shown the same week as the Alfa Cinema. The Atlas Cinema showed more films for adults while the Alfa Cinema was an all family cinema. After closing of the Alfa Cinema, the by then renamed Leo Cinema showed all family films. “How the West Was Won” was shown there. It closed in 1967.
