Erie Basin Theatre

An existing building in the Red Hook district of Brooklyn was converted into a movie theatre in 1910. It had no known name at that time. By March 1, 1913 it had been named Erie Basin Theatre and operated until 1920.

The building has since been in retail and office use, but was vacant when viewed in September 2015.

I’m not sure, but I think the name “Erie Basin” derives from the docking “basin” in Brooklyn for the freight car-floats from the Erie Railroad terminal in Jersey City.
