Olympia Theatre opened in 1910 and founded by De Haan brothers. Later it was run by R. Uges. It was renovated in 1946 with the first movie Sabu in “The Thief of Baghdad”. The renewed cinema had stained glass in the foyer and wooden floors. In 1960 tickets cost 1 Guilder 50 and 1 Guilder 80. The last movie was “Le Corniaud” (The Citroen (Duck) and the Cadillac) with Louis de Funès in 1978 before the doors defenitively closed. After a fire the cinema was demolished in 1980. Mr. Karpes owner since 1931 took the stained glass to his home as a memory.
