Palladium Cinema

In Honley, a small Yorkshire town three miles south of Huddersfield and three miles north of Holmfirth, the Palladium Cinema is not listed in the 1914 Kinematograph Year Book, but it is shown in the 1931 edition. At that time, it was owned by Honley Palladium Ltd.

That ownership continued, at least until the 1953 KYB. The Palladium Cinema was still open in 1966, but had closed by 1980.

When I visited, in May 2001, a notice on the building announced that a “refurbished health and squash club” would be opening soon. The building is currently (in November 2015) home to the Phoenix Squash and Fitness Club.
