King's Cinema

In Montrose, on the eastern coast of Scotland, the King’s Cinema was opened in 1919 in a converted live theatre. Run by SVCT, it became part of the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) circuit.

Taken over by J. B. Milne Theatres circuit on 30th March 1958, it closed in 1963. They converted it into a All Square Bingo Club.

After many years as a bingo hall (operated by Gala Bingo when I visited in June 2001) it has, more recently, been converted into The Picture House, a family sports bar.
