In the King’s Heath district of Birmingham, the appropriately named King’s Heath Picture House opened in 1912 in the former Ruskin Hall.
The proprietor was King’s Heath Electric Pictures Ltd., the manager and secretary being A. H. Allen.
In 1915 the name was changed to the Cosy Cinema, and it came under the management of Lawson Trout.
It is not known when the Cosy Cinema closed, but it was a very short-lived cinema.
When I visited, in March 2004, the building was occupied by P. V. Wall & Sons Ltd., providing engineering services. More recently, it has been home to businesses such as Nikkidee’s Gelato and Institute Hairdressing.
