In the small town of Shotton, Flintshire, near Queensferry, the Ritz Cinema opened in 1930.
The building had started life as a dance hall about 1920.
The Ritz Cinema was not listed in the Kinematograph Year Books for 1931 or 1940. By 1953 it was owned by Ritz (Deeside) Ltd. The proscenium was 20ft wide.
The Ritz Cinema closed in July 1957. Moreton Green Furniture Store occupied the building until closure in 1997. The building was demolished the following year and is now a car park. This is situated opposite an infants' school.
